Grand Teton in Winter

Experience the Clash of Seasons in Wyoming’s Iconic National Park

With the guidance of local expert naturalists and photographers

As the snow starts to blanket the landscape in western Wyoming, the wildlife have a last burst of energy before settling down for the winter. This time of year provides ample opportunities to photograph wildlife that continue to prepare for winter’s approach. Bull moose gather in the sagebrush flats. Coyotes start to pounce into the snow. The hardiest of bison trudge through the white landscape. Bighorn sheep perform their own mating rituals.

The low winter light casts long, soft shadows and bathes the landscape in a warm, golden hue during the colorful hours of sunrise and sunset yet the brisk cold air can create frosty scenes that epitomize a winter wonderland. These fleeting moments provide exceptional opportunities to capture the park’s beauty in its most enchanting light, which turns into pastel shades in winter.

From the resilient wildlife to the still landscapes with its majestic mountain peaks rising above the valley, Grand Teton National Park will create a world of wonder for you and your camera. Expert guides will help you refine your skills and techniques throughout the weekend tour, ensuring you make the most of every photographic moment.
